Kanye West Paris Concert Breakdown; Kanye West Cries During First Concert After Death Of Mom

Kanye West returned to the concert stage Saturday night, and the hip-hop heavyweight broke down in tears while a playing a sold-out concert in Paris. Kanye was attempting to introduce the tribute to his late mother, Dr. Donda West, at Le Zénith in Paris, saying “this song is for my mother….” and could get no further broke he began crying. His fiancee Alexis and her son were with him.

“He just cracked,” one attendee tells PEOPLE, “He was at the end of his concert and had just started to dedicate the song and then he just lost it completely.”

“He said the word, ‘Mother’ and just couldn’t go any further,” Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire reports. “A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn’t continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing.”

“He was very nervous, seemed to have gathered himself up, and had a lot of energy,” Magloire says. “He kept shouting out to the audience, ‘I need you… I need you right now.’ and the public was screaming back. It was magic.”

My heart goes out to Kanye West and his family! I know no one can tell you how to feel at a time such as this. I learned a long time ago that you should never say to another person I know how you feel - because in all honesty you don’t. You should be allowed to yell if you want - scream -cry - and show all the emotions that will come and continue to come - after all we talking about MOM here.
