Well, when all else fails…..After two commercially-unsuccessful solo albums, former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland plans to deviate from her roots as an R&B crooner and tackle disco for her upcoming third album.

Inspired by music legends Donna Summer and Diana Ross — well-regarded for their disco dance numbers in the 1970s — Kelly is determined to stop Earth from rotating with a collection of singles that fans can dance to.

“They were so powerful and glam on stage and such a voice for women. I looked at them to take inspiration from and then thought of a way to make it my own,” Rowland told London’s Daily Star this week.

Since ending her partnership with her surrogate dad Mathew Knowles, 59, last year, Kelly has high hopes for her next solo showing after inking a new recording contract with Universal Motown. She’s already planning to work with artists like Ne-Yo, will.i.am, and French techno star David Guetta.

“I also want to get P Diddy on the album too. It’s a great list of people and the record has come together so beautifully.”

Good luck, Kelly. We’re rooting for you.
