Lumidee Named Arthritis Youth Ambassador

Lumidee has been name Youth Ambassador for the New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation’s 2007 Arthritis Walk.
The annual nationwide event occurs in May during national Arthritis Month, raising funds and awareness to fight arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability. The Manhattan Arthritis Walk will take place on Sunday, April 29, at Battery Park.
“I was fourteen years old when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis,” Lumidee says. “At nineteen years old, the doctors said I would never walk. I worked hard and all that hard word paid off when I was able to dance in my latest music video. I want to give other young people the confidence they need to stop this disease from controlling their lives and ask everyone to come out and join the fight against arthritis by participating in the 2007 Arthritis Walk.”
Lumidee’s sophomore album, “Unexpected,” will hit stores on Tuesday. Her current single, “She’s Like The Wind,” is Number 46 on the Billboard Top 100.
Lumidee’s fans can go to here to sign up for ‘Team Lumidee’ to participate in the walk or make donations.
