As Growing Pains hits shelves on Tuesday, Mary J. Blige takes over the VH1 Soul Network as part of Mary J. Day.
“Mary J. Day” begans at 7 a.m. EST on Tuesday morning and will include six hours of programming ranging from music videos to documentaries dedicated to the soul singer, her career accomplishments and subsequent influence over R&B music.
Scheduled to air as part of Mary J.Day are “Soul Story,” a collection of the singer’s videos starting at 7 a.m., the BBC original documentary “Soul Deep: The Story of Black Popular Music ‘From Ghetto to Fabulous,’” and the “Life & Rhymes of Mary J. Blige” at 1 p.m.
