Aretha is the Queen of soul, but she is not the only queen. Beyonce never said “The Queen of Soul”!!! All she said was “The Queen”. Aretha really needs to ground herself in maturity and build upon security in herself because something like that shouldn’t have gotten her mad at all. If anything, she should be lucky THE QUEEN B mentioned her name. As far a Beyonce being selfish because she didn’t wear her mother’s gowns in an essence ad, she wears her clothes all the time why do she have to wear it 24/7, dang she can’t get a break. And she can’t help that millions of people love her over kelly and michelle. As far as her taking over the stage, usually the one being honored don’t get to perform at all, luckily beyonce was gracious and asked her to perform with her. Also, as Mr. Knowles said from the beginning, he was speaking as her manager, not as her father. Plus the whole fued is beneath her. She’s too busy making great music and being a humble beautiful person!

nobody is hating on her father.when she said that tina was the queen of soul the whole audience looked puzzled.everyone knows that aretha was given an award for the title of queen of soul.and for her to say that in front of her was not right.aretha has been singing solo since the60`s.tina just started singing solo in the 80`s. i love her too.and aretha came out in the 80`s again right along with her.it was rude and selfish of her to bump and out dance tina her queen of soul.instead of just going to these shows and trying to out do everybody learn some of your music history. and for the record there are 3 divas.madonna, whitney,janet.they have songs that have been on the charts since the 80`s.they are beautiful intelligent black women and they are still making hits for all ages. beyoncee mostly young people.it`s not tina fault.beyoncee is young to know legendary music.everybody understands aretha feelings is a little hurt . i have`nt smelled her body like you have.everybody has a queen in there house. but there is always going to be 1 queen of soul of r&b and gospel aretha .and somebody needs to stop solange from singing!!!! .everybody talks about that. she can`t sing .her music is in the store discount box.you`re not the jackson`s. too late they are the black music family going down in history.beyoncee still have years to go.

To all those hatin’ on Matthew Knowles’ defence of his daughter Beyoncè, I have one question: Does Ms. Franklin’s rectum stink or not? Ur heads are so far up her behind, I thought I’d ask. IMHO, Mr. Knowles responded the same way any caring, nurturing father would. And I couldn’t agree more with the last poster who in essence said Beyoncè never dissed Ms. Franklin by referring to Ms. Turner as “a” queen. If Mahalia Jackson (who, in my book, still reigns as “Queen of Gospel”) were alive & in the house that nite, I hardly believe she’d have taken offence. When you’re really secure within your own skin and know who you are, little things like this tend not to bother you–an attribute of which the Queen of Soul is apparently lacking.

whoever said Tina was the queen of ‘soul’? No one. She was hailed as a queen & I know it may pain u to hear this but Aretha is not the only queen out there & certainly doesn’t own the word lol I’m sure Aretha is the queen of soul, don’t worry no one will take that from her. But I also know that Madonna is the queen of pop & I know Tina has long been hailed the queen of rock & so forth. Why does that upset u & Aretha so much? It’s an X-FILE…very strange! It spells out insecurity. Aretha is just making herself look like a green-eyed monster. She needs to get over her self & get upset over worthwhile things. Not petty things like this. She needs to grow up.

lol whoever said Beyonce could surpass Tina but couldn’t surpass Aretha?!

Well maybe when she starts selling out more stadiums than any other female artist she might surpass Tina but she will nevr have the voice. At the gammy’s Beyonce was lovely & beautiful but looked like Tina’s back up dancer. Beyonce could surpass Aretha but never Tina.

Matthew missed his chance to school these young artists. We need to honor those who came before us. Aretha is truly the queen of soul. Sure, it was a diva moment for Aretha, but she has earned it with 20 grammys and has represented our community well.

ok ok, it’s time for daddy to sit down and take a back seat in the corner and let beyonce be that woman she claims to be, she dances on stage like a grown woman, so let her stand on own ground,

it was not daddy’s place to speak up to the” QUEEN OF SOUL ARETHA FRANLIN” it should have been beyonce aka sasha places to stand up to the QUEEN of soul ARETHA.

beyonce is not little girl anymore father Matthew, she is a grown woman so un-tie the apron strings and let her go, this is not the first time she’s going to have a run in with a celeb. and it won’t be the last. so let her stand her own ground. Matthew U were out of place to reply. and sorry THE QUEEN OF SOUL IS ARETHA and no one can take that title away from the QUEEN….I do love tina, but she’s no queen of soul.

Ms. Aretha U are the QUEEN of SOUL and U will forever be the QUEEN of SOUL all over the world…. we love U because U earned that title, it’s written on every mazagine, book, etc. that we pick up and read.

Matthew take a sit down and stop treating beyonce like a lil girl, it’s so so silly of U to blah blah blah.
