Max B Guilty Murder/Robbery
Former Byrd Gang associate Charles “Max B” Wingate has reportedly been found guilty on 9 out of 11 felony murder conspiracy charges stemming from a fatal 2006 robbery.
The rapper was reportedly detained by police after being read a guilty verdict in the Bergen County Court House on Tuesdy.
It was Max’s former girlfriend, Bronx prostitute Gina Conway, who accepted a plea deal and implicated him in the crime.
Gina and two others were charged with murder after a botched robbery at the Holiday Inn on Route 4 in North Bergen, New Jersey ended in the shooting death of one of the victims in September 2006. Conway met David Taylor and Allan “Jay” Plowden and told her boyfriend that the two men drove flashy cars and carried a lot of cash. Max then recruited an associate to rob Taylor and Plowden, prosecutors argued.
According to HipHopStan.com, witnesses say Max “took his verdict like a man.” He did not break down once and remained strong through the entire verdict. His attorney plans to appeal the verdict.
Max B will be sentenced on July 30.
