I agree. It’s silly. The First Lady can choose any designer she pleases. I’m certainly not offended because she didn’t choose an African-American designer. I thought she looked stunning on Inauguration day down to her feet. By the way, I believe she’s a full-footed sister. I think she at least wears a size 11, like myself. Bullshit. Is this what is going to happen now? Are the Obamas supposed to play favorites and buy black EVERYTHING now, just because the man made it to president? Michelle Obama does not have an obligation to us as a race just because she’s in the public eye. We have an obligation to OURSELVES to push the envelope, to encourage each other to go the distance in making the most of ourselves, just like our new President has with his life.

NOT sit here and bitch because the First Lady didn’t wear a dress by a black designer. She wore the dress she liked. End of story.

This petty “Obama owes us” bull has to stop before it gets out of control. Because all we’re doing is making ourselves look stupid.

I am embarrased for one of the first times to be american. If our country really tells the 1st lady how to dress because she should be “representin’” we need a serious social adjustment! This is rediculous, and embarassing! Yet, me as a white american is always treated with disrespect from the opposite race, and expected to be racisit, which i am NOT, and if we reversed these roles a little…put a white 1st lady in a black designers dress, and said SHE should have wore the WHITE designers dress, we would be shot for racisim. Where is this fair!? I have been saying this for a long time, and this had topped the stick!

Are they serious?This is so stupid. Michelle Obama does not have to pick a black designer just because she is black. It’s childish, petty and just rediculous to even go there. We had the biggest moment of all…and that is the fact that we have a black President. Let’s not get caught up in nonsense like this because it makes our First Family look bad.

They are the first black family in the White House BUT they are not responsible for representing everything that is black because – well, that’s just STUPID. I am sure when she picked her dress she wasn’t even thinking about making THAT kind of statement. SOME people have better things to make statements about….and futher more; how do we even know that she hasn’t contacted any of the black designers for future items that she may need? WE DON’T…..
