Universial Pictures announced on Thursday that a motion picture is in the works focusing on the rise and fall of famed early nineties lip-synching duo Milli Vanilli.

The “singing” sensations lost their 1990 Best New Artist Grammy Award when it was outed that the pair never laced their award-winning album with a single authentic verse.

Jonathan Nathanson is responsible for writing the upcoming flick:

“I’ve always been fascinated by the notion of fakes and frauds, and in this case, you had guys who pulled off the ultimate con, selling 30 million singles and 11 million albums and then becoming the biggest laughing-stocks of pop entertainment.”
