Mo’Nique Quizzed On Snubbing “Precious” [VIDEO]
Mo’Nique business manager/husband, Sidney Hicks, stepped up to defend his wife backstage at the Critics Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood on Friday, after she was quizzed about why she’s been so lackadasical and showing to support Precious at a series of festivals and awards shows.
The comedienne picked up a Best Supporting Actress gong at the event for her portrayal of abusive ’80s welfare mother Mary Jones, was backstage chatting to the media when one journalist asked her to explain why she snubbed a series of events, including the Toronto Film Festival, New York Film Festival and New York Film Critics Awards.
Mo’Nique called Sid to the press room stage to answer the question on her behalf.

I’m so disappointed. Is that the best Sidney could do for an explanation and Monique looked so proud while he spewed that nonsense. Oprah has a quality show that she does everyday and she managed to appear at the toronto film festival which is one of the most famous, well attended, media covered film festivals in the world. Sherri Shepard was also there. Monique is not a pauper and am sure could have gotten quality care for her children. In fact, I’m sure if her ‘brilliant” business manager Sidney thought it was financially worth her while, he would have ensured her attendance and care for their children. He is the father of these kids right?!

Sometimes you have to look at the overall picture and show humility to receive god’s blessings spiritually and materially. I think Gabourey Sidbe should have won the golden globe. Her performance was much more of a deviation from her actual personality and she does not have the sense of entitlement that Monique has. That’s what separates real stars from the”hood rich” , the light that shines inside out not visa versa. Enjoy, your 30 mins. Monique because alot of directors are looking at your performance off screen and those who represent you. Sidney may be a great husband but get a REAL manager.
