Mo’Nique Radio Show Cancelled
Say buh-bye to The Mo’Nique Show.
MoNique’s syndicated radio show will end its run on Wednesday, March 18 after just eight months on the air.
The comedienne insists she has chosen to shut down The Mo’Nique Show in order to “further her career in television, film and comedy.”
“I would like to thank my fabulous board of directors for their daily inspiration and feedback and Radio One for the opportunity to further my entertainment brand through radio,” Mo’Nique said in a statement.
But gossips at RadioSyndication Talk say the afternoon show was a ratings flop that has been cancelled by distributor Syndication One.
“Details are still coming in but the handwriting was on the wall when after a much heralded debut on KDAY Los Angeles, the show was removed after just four months due to a format shift. The same scenario happened in Philadelphia in January, leaving the show with less than seven affiliates.”

DAAAAAAMMMNNN!!!!! I was riding home last week and was like ‘dahell is her show?’ cause the local station it was on here was playing music. smh, I wonder which is true, if she cancelled it or if it was due to ratings. They’ll cancel anything nowadays based on a lack of ratings but I thought she was doing good. I didn’t listen everyday because I just need variety and have a couple of shows I listen to or just choose to drive home in silence due to having a long day at work. smh…oh well I wish her the best, I’m sure this aint gonna stop her strut!

Monique is talented when it comes to unfufilling comedy. The content on the show was very weak and ghetto. Who wants to hear “if my baby catches me smoking marijuana, and I’ve told them not to?, not me! It was about time they pulled the plug, now I can listen to my music.
I’m sure she will be ok, there is a lot of content lacking movies left for her to make. She has reached her plateau in Hollywood, but as a black woman I wish her the best of success.

For all the Mo’Nique haters and fans, this is the response I got back from the Detroit radio station she was on.
I just want to say that I’m so sick of us hating on each other and I’m glad she did quit and wasnt fired. If it wasnt your cup of tea, TURN THE DAMN STATION, nobody was holding a gun to your head saying, “Please listen to this ‘ghetto’ content we have here”!! BTW, I’m an educated black woman so dont even take it there!
Monique decided to end her show, she was not fired. She no longer
produces the Monique Show for on air programming. She’s currently
persuing her acting career.
