Being raised in the 60’s and experiencing the BLACK PRIDE of that time it’s demeaning to all those that were part of the STRUGGLE.Rosa,MLK ,Malcolm,Nina Simone,JFK,RFK,Huey,Eldridge and H Rap to name a few. To hear the ignorance written by Hennessy 47 gives me the indication that all real G’s are these Bros in the Rap videos that disrespect all women, (of which, 90% of Rap vids the Sista’s are demeaned and reduced to a pair of ass cheeks or breasts;” they’re all Bitches; but not my MOMS” ) The “N” word is never said in a positive situation because the definition is neg. Some Bros call each other that word but when a White person calls them that they’re ready to whip that ass!! I never liked Nas and it’s a shame that with his Uncreative ass he would go to this extent for publicity for a ALBUM? In the coming weeks the world will witness history.Those that went through the unbearable times will finally be blessed for their suffering. Although this is a great moment for “ALL People of Color”it’s also a Gr8 day for the USA. Not long ago it wasn’t possible for us to use the same toilets, ride in the FRONT of the bus, or even play sports with the MAN!! Hate and Ignorance, are 2 things that have helped keep America the Racist country it is. Isn’t it time to realize that WE need each other? Think of the children. I just hope “THOSE HATERS” give Mr. Obama a chance and don’t put out the fire too soon!! Nas will never REPRESENT like the real G’s in the past and like Public Enemy said, I don’t wanna be called no “N&^^^*&*!!

How about this: the solution to ALL ‘racism’.

Allow all the ‘racist’ whites to form their own country in the U.S.A. – just partition off part of the country (it’s big enough) and say that all the ‘racist’ whites can go and live there. After all, no ‘racist’ whites are going to voluntarily stay around blacks and other non-whites, are they?

And voila: problem solved. All the ‘racist’ whites will be gone FOREVER from the lives of black folk. No more wondering if that cop has pulled you over because you were driving while black. No more wondering during a job interview if ‘whitey’ secretly (or not so secretly) hates you, and won’t give you the job, because you’re black.

The only problem, of course, is that 99% of whites would choose to live in the all white country, wouldn’t they…

To end this process you have to end racism (white supremacy), though counter-racism codification, and that is the process of de-niggerization.

i totally understand nas”s message here. he realizes that a simple 6 letter word has WAY too much power over african americans as a people. instead of focusing on “nigger” we should focus on”self”. as in putting “self” above a word and not gettin all bent out of shape because of it. to me it seems like black people are using a word as an excuse not to move the fuck on. nas is basically sayin that “this word has no power over me” and i agree 100%

I havent read all of what has been written here but I just want add something here. I adhor the N word and have all my life and it didnt matter how it was used, it was always such a “scary” word but what I do appreciate him doing is wearing the fucking shirt, we all know what the word means but its not always what it stands for. Today, the word represents what our ancestors has gone through. Im glad he wore the shirt because its been tucked away and on a hush hush statis that even though many of us still deal with racism first hand its like bamm just when you hoped we forgot!!! We didnt forget!!! He didnt wear the shirt to showcase himself as being ignorant, he wore it reminding the people of today of what black men and women have gone through and still is dealing with and Im sure of this because it would be why I’d wear the shirt. Hey, maybe your mad and think he’s ignorant, I think it was heroic and maybe yu were the black man who went through life wanting to be accepted by the white man so you’ve tought yourself to hate everything a black man did, a black man like Nasir Jones!!! It took balls and im sure he knew what type of response he would get but Im sure he didnt care who looked and stared. So go ahead and get upset but its a freedom of speech world. Free to say and wear what we want! And maybe if everyone wasnt so affraid to say what they’re free to say maybe the world would be use to these kind of things and wouldnt have been shitting bricks this day!!!
