Omarion’s “21″ Debuts At Number One

Omarion’s sophomore disc “21″ has debuted at Number One on the Billboard Charts.

Many of the issues covered on the album are based on the experiences O had or dealt with at twenty-one. The album is named after an age that those younger can’t wait to be and that those older wish they could go back to.

“It’s a milestone in everyone’s life,” Omarion said. “It’s an age that you can remember and you have great memories.”

“A lot of people don’t know that I’m really familiar with the history of music. They wouldn’t expect me to know about Sammy Davis Jr., the Nicholas Brothers, Cab Calloway…I can go on. I understand the history, especially the performing and dance, but the music, too. I really wanted to convey that I had some history and I had some background. These are the guys I looked up to – Michael Jackson, James Brown – all the greats. With ‘Entourage’ I felt like that’s what music was missing. It was missing the feeling and the funk. I wanted to bring that element back.”
