We’re getting our first look at Grammy Award-winning singer Mary J. Blige in the hotly-anticipated movie musical Rock of Ages. MJB will be taking the role of Justice Charlier, the owner of a gentlemen’s club, in the film inspired by the hits of the 1980s and adapted from the award-winning Broadway production of the same name.
Adam Shankman’s Rock of Ages — also starring Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, and Alec Baldwin — will open in theaters in Dec. 2012.

Doctors at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital drained an abscess on one of Kelly’s tonsils on Tuesday, according to Kelly’s longtime publicist Allan Mayer. Mayer says the Grammy winner, 44, had been complaining of throat pain recently and was rushed to the hospital after a throat exam uncovered the infection.
VH1 has green-lit a second season of its original scripted comedy/drama, Single Ladies. Set in Atlanta and produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit, the show is the network’s first hour-long scripted series and stars Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, and Charity Shea.

The eldest son of Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes has been arrested on shoplifting charges in Gwinnett County. Bryson Bryant, a 20-year-old dad, was arrested around 9 PM Thursday after jacking two Mach 3 razors from a local Walmart. He was taken into custody after being nabbed by store security. There’s no word yet on where Bryant was arrested, but according to Gwinnett County Jail records, he’s charged with shoplifting and a probation violation.
