“Precious” Leads 2010 NAACP Image Award Nominations
Precious, the critically-acclaimed tearjerker of an illiterate and abused Harlem teen who finds hope in a classroom, topped the nominees for the 41st annual NAACP Image Awards on Wednesday.
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire earned a leading eight nominations at a press conference Wednesday, with nods for director Lee Daniels, star Gabourey Sidibe and supporting actors Mariah Carey, Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, and Lenny Kravitz.
The Image Awards honoring diversity in the arts will be presented Feb. 26 and broadcast live on Fox.
