Makeda Barnes-Joseph, the twenty-three year old New York City woman allegedly shot and critically wounded by Remy Ma, is suing the rapper for $10 million.

In a civil lawsuit filed in New York on Friday, Remy Ma - real name Remy Smith - is accused of “wilfully, wantonly and maliciously” shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph.

The suit also names Universal Music Group and Sure Shot Recordings as defendants, accusing the firms of encouraging Remy Ma to behave violently to promote her image.

The twenty-six year old former First Lady of the Terror Squad is currently awaiting trial on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, gang assault and witness intimidation in relation to the shooting of Makeda outside a New York nightclub in July 2007.

It’s been a tough week for Rem. On Thursday, a New York judge denied her permission to leave the U.S. to travel to Europe for a five-country concert tour because of the serious charges against her. And that was right on the heels of the release of a videotape accusing the thugged-up rapstress of being a closet lesbian.
