Now we know what Rihanna was doing in NYC last week. The islander flew stateside on April 2 to visit six-year-old Jasmina Anema in her hospital room at NYU Medical Center.

The devoted Ri-Ri fan is suffering from a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. Rihanna is just one of numerous celebrities–including Kelly Rowland–who have been diligently searching for a bone marrow donor for Jasmina.

“She’s really here!” Jasmina exclaimed when Rihanna came in, shoeless, to prevent the spread of germs, and hugged her. “You are such a beautiful little girl,” Rihanna told her.
