Snoop Says “Stop Comparing Don Imus To Rappers”

Snoop is sounding off on the comparision between commentator Don Imus and rappers who use profanity in their lyrics.

The rapper, who is now facing four years in prison as a result of marijuana and weapons possession, says that it’s Ok for rappers to use words like ho and bitch, but not Don Imus:

“It’s a completely different scenario… “[Rappers] are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We’re talking about ho’s that’s in the ‘hood that ain’t doing sh–, that’s trying to get a n—a for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain’t no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them mutha—–as say we in the same league as him.”

Snoop, what you meant to say was, “Rappers and Imus alike need to stop sprinkling phrases like nigga, bitch, and ho like they’re word “the,” but as an adult Imus shouldn’t use the ignorant actions of others (ie, rappers who need a dictionary) to govern his own behavior.” Yeah, that’s what you meant to say.

I love how Snoop Dogg tries to rationalize his bad behavior. It is a double standard. Imus should be banned for using such language and so should every song that contains the same words.

The whole thing with Imus is crazy. I honestly have very mixed feelings on the whole thing. I personally have no problem with calling ppl names if its in context and helps to bring across social commentary but if its just plain pointless and uncalled for like what Imus did then i can’t support that.

Also the fact that ppl are trying to take the finger off of Imus and point it to rappers is a bitch move.

Of course not.

White people don’t do anything else that Blacks do that they know is wrong so why do they always starting whining about this “It’s A Double Standard,” “Rappers Say It” bullshit when it comes to one of their Klansmen being “unsheeted” in public?
