Syesha Mercado, the second runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol, has been cast in the role of Deena Jones in a new traveling production of Dreamgirls, opening at the world-famous Apollo Theater in New York City on Nov. 22. The limited run will play the Harlem venue through Dec. 6 and then begin touring the country.
