Tameka Foster reports that after her Saturday evening wedding to Usher Raymond was called off she checked into a local hospital and went into pre-term labor.

“We had a scare,” says Tameka who isn’t due until the Fall. “But, I am fine and the baby is fine.”

And on the abrupt end to her rush to the altar?

“No one knows why we canceled the wedding,” she says. “But I can tell you that all of the reasons guessed are completely untrue.”

According to NY Daily News sources, Usher visited to Tameka following her pregnancy crisis but had not spoken to her prior to that:

“He’s definitely checked up her,” a source told us. “But prior to that he hadn’t seen her since Saturday, when he called off the wedding. He hadn’t even been taking her calls.”

One insider said the 28-year-old singer had flown back to Peachtown to make amends with his mother, Jonetta Patton, who had refused to attend the ceremony. The nuptials were to have taken place at the Hamptons estate of record mogul L.A. Reid.

But Foster reoriented the runaway groom, according to sources suspicious of her reported health crisis.

“This could be a ploy to reel him back,” said an insider.

Another skeptic suggested that “she’s playing the pregnancy card. It’s so predictable. Usher is a really nice guy and a little naive. But he’s learning fast.”

The same source said Foster, a divorced mother of three, “has been pushing him to release a statement saying that they postponed the wedding because of the pregnancy problem.”
