R&B star Kelis shocked the urban world when she — at seven months pregnant — filed for divorce from her hip-hop legend hubby, Nas, on April 30.

The 29-year-old “Milkshake” hipshaker — who married the Queens-bred MC in a lime green wedding dress in July 2003 — cited the ever-popular irreconcilable differences on the official paperwork, but spies close to the couple tell Star Magazine it’s a lot deeper than that.

Insiders tell the tab that Kelis finally left Nas after suffering years of verbal abuse and turning a blind to his constant infildelity.

A source tells Star: “Nas can be a great guy, but he blows up. One day he’s sweet, the next he’s in a rage.”

“It hasn’t helped that his career isn’t what it used to be,” the insider adds. “He loves Kelis, but she’s done with him.”

Kelis has hired celebrity lawyer to the stars Laura Wassar to represent her in the divorce.
